NEW YORK, NY— American Vacation Tours, a New Jersey based student tour company focusing on tours for schools tours, camps and communities, has been acquired by eduSTAR Tours, LLC, also a tour company based in Manalapan, New Jersey, just outside New York City.
AVT is owned by Ben Gold and John Peragine. Mr. Gold and Mr. Peragine first founded AVT over 30 years ago and were former teachers in New York City. According to Mr. Peragine, “Ben and I first started out as teachers and created AVT to earn extra income. Over the years, we have done extremely well by focusing on student tours, camp trips and tours for communities, churches and organizations.” Mr. Gold added “it is time for me and John to take a step back and enjoy time with our wives, kids and grandkids. We have been working on student tours and camp tours for a long long time and it’s time to have a new generation of professionals be in charge. We think Jon will take eduSTAR to a higher level.”
eduSTAR Tours is owned by Jonathan Gamza. Mr. Gamza is a former corporate lawyer in New York City and New Jersey and a former owner of another student tour company for over 10 years. According to Mr. Gamza, “This is a perfect acquisition of AVT. John and Ben will stay with eduSTAR and help manage the existing clients while I focus on obtaining new customers.”
