As part of your school field trip to Williamsburg, you can include a great day at Busch Gardens. At this Park, your kids will enjoy many great rides, animals, shows and attractions. If you want more education for your kids while on your student tour, Busch Gardens offers several workshops, including a tour of the Clydesdales and Collies, Jack Hanna’s Wild Reserve and many more.
College of William and Mary »
The College of William & Mary is the second-oldest college in America (second to Harvard). On February 8, 1693, King William III and Queen Mary II of England signed the charter for a “perpetual College of Divinity, Philosophy, Languages, and other good Arts and Sciences” to be founded in the Virginia Colony. Former presidents Thomas Jefferson, John Tyler and James Monroe each received their college degrees at this institution.

When the original Virginia capital of Jamestown burned down, the government was relocated to Middle Plantation, which was renamed Williamsburg in honor of King William III of England. After its designation as the Capital of the Virginia Colony, construction of a capitol building and designing the new city began. When visiting Colonial Williamsburg, your students will watch history come alive as you explore the world’s largest living museum, including exhibition sites, trade shops, and site tours.
Historic Ghost Walk of Williamsburg »
On this candlelight walk of Colonial Williamsburg, your group, to be led by a costumed guide, will experience the ghosts and the history of Williamsburg and the legend of Blackbeard in 18th Century. This walk is another highlight on your field trip to Williamsburg.
Jamestown Settlement »
While on your field trip to Jamestown Settlement, your kids will see a video and learn about the Jamestown Settlement story, about the people who founded Jamestown and of the Virginia Indians that the founders encountered. Your kids will also wonder around the museum and see exhibits of the history of Jamestown. Outside, your young historians can board replicas of the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607. Additionally, your group will explore life-size re-creations of the colonists’ fort and a Powhatan village.
Yorktown Victory Center »
On October 19, 1781, the British surrendered to American and French forces lead by George Washington. The Siege of Yorktown effectively ended the Revolutionary War. Yorktown Victory Center, a museum of the American Revolution, chronicles America’s development. On this educational tour, your students will view several exhibits, including a copy of the Declaration of Independence, and, an outdoor living history of a re-created Continental Army encampment, the daily life of American soldiers at the end of the war and much more.
