Ontario Science Centre »

The Ontario Science Centre was a pioneer for its “hands on” approach to science. Many museums throughout the world duplicated the Ontario Science Center’s approach. Unlike traditional museums, where the exhibits are for display only, the majority of the exhibits at the Science Centre are interactive. Throughout the museum, your students will be exposed to several hundred interactive and passive exhibits relating to almost anything you can imagine.

Royal Ontario Museum »

The Royal Ontario Museum (the “ROM”) is Canada’s largest museum of world culture and natural history and is one of the largest museums in North America. Casa Loma, meaning “house on the hill” is the former 98 room estate of Sir Henry Pellatt, who was a prominent Toronto financier, industrialist and military man. In 1911, with a huge fortune, the unabashed romantic decided to build a medieval-style castle overlooking Toronto. Sir Henry filled his castle with artwork from around the world, statues and beautiful gardens. Due to the impact on the economy during World War I, he lost his fortune and had to give up Casa Loma. Vacant for many years, Toronto seized the property and had many suggestions as to the use of the property. Finally, in 1938 Casa Loma opened as a museum and landmark.

The Niagara Falls Movie: “Legends and Daredevils“ is a great way to learn the history of the waters of Niagara. This movie takes the audience back to the days when Native peoples worshipped the thunder spirits, and when the first Europeans encountered this wild wonder of nature. The movie also has the theater goers meet the daredevils, from the Great Blondin, who completed a death-defying tightrope walk over the river in 1860, to a 63-year-old schoolteacher, who became the first person to go over the Falls in a barrel and live to tell the tale. The movie may even be updated to discuss Aerialist Nik Wallenda’s historic tightrope crossing over Niagara Falls in June of 2012
